What is Starlight Cinema?
Starlight Cinema is Asia's largest outdoor cinema festival, allowing you to enjoy an amazing cinema experience under the stars in a large park.

How long is the Starlight Cinema season?
Starlight Cinema usually takes place between June and September every year. Stay tuned to the site as we will give you more information about the screening soon.

Where is Starlight Cinema held?
Starlight Cinema is usually held in a big field. This year the venue is at KBU International Colleger, Bandar Utama.

What time does Starlight Cinema start?
Doors open at 6pm. Movies start at 8pm. Do come early to secure a good place as it’s free seating.

What time do I have to be there?
There is no allocated seating at Starlight Cinema, so it is best to be there at 6pm so that you can reserve yourself a good spot in front of the big screen. There will be plenty of excitement and activities to keep you entertained before the movie starts. There’s also an F&B village set up for your convenience. Prices are reasonable, so enjoy a pre-movie dinner under the stars.

Where do I park?
Parking in KBU International College is on a first come, first served basis only. More parking is available along the main road in front of the college entrance. You can also park opposite at Bandar Utama Centre Point, which is a short walk to the event grounds.

I'm under 18. Can I still attend Starlight Cinema?
There will be many nights with movies rated U, which we would love for you to attend. However, strict security will be employed at the door during screenings of movies rated 18.
U - General Viewing for all ages
18SG - For 18+ with non-excessive violent/ horrifying scenes
18SX - For 18+ with non-excessive sex scenes
18PA - For 18+ with political/ religious/ counter-culture elements
18PL - For 18+ with a combination of two or more elements

Can I bring children to Starlight Cinema?
Yes you can. However, we do not encourage children under the age of 5 to attend this event as they may pose a disturbance to other viewers.

Can I bring a chair?
No deck chairs or small stools are allowed at the venue. However, you may bring cushions, blankets or rugs to sit on.

What should I wear to be comfortable?
It’s best to come in comfortable clothing like shorts and T-shirts. As you will be sitting on the grass, we don't want your favorite pants to get dirty.

Will there be food and drinks at the venue?
Yes, food and drinks are available at the Starlight Cinema Food Village. CLICK HERE for full listings.

Your F&B village only cash accepted?
Do bring loose change as our F&B village only accepts cash.

Isn't it too hot to watch the movies outdoors?
The location and design of the venue ensures that there is a nice breeze in the evenings. In fact, we advise you to bring a thin jacket should the night get chilly.

What happens if it rains?
In the event of rain, the movie(s) scheduled for the night will continue to be screened. If you have purchased a ticket for that night and choose not to stay, you will be reimbursed with a complimentary ticket of equal value that can be used on any comparable day of the event. For complimentary ticket holders, no cash refunds will be provided, nor will complimentary ticket holders be compensated with additional complimentary tickets.

Are there insects?
Sometimes after the rain, there may be a few insects but as Starlight Cinema is scheduled during the dry months, the chances of insects’ making a presence are slim.

Will I be able to see and hear properly?
Yes, you will. The sound and projection technology used at Starlight Cinema is designed specifically for the outdoors and is the best of its kind in the world, with added enhancements to provide amazing surround sound quality and super clear (and enormous!) images.

What else can I get there?
Besides the Food Village, other sponsor marques will be displaying their products at the venue. Most sponsors will run their own on-ground activities.

Are pets allowed at Starlight Cinema?
No.

Can I take photos or capture any video?
Photos with your friends are permissible. However, anyone found taking photos or motion captures of the screen will be treated in accordance with Malaysia’s Law governing copyright and piracy, and will be handed over to the authorities. Members of the press, kindly inform us of your plans with regards to video and photography as we will furnish you with the appropriate accreditation to allow you to take photographs and video as required.

Is alcohol allowed?
Yes. Should anyone become intoxicated to the point where they impinge upon the enjoyment of other patrons, they will be escorted from the premises and banned from returning in future.

Is smoking allowed?
Smoking areas will be made available. Please be sure to smoke at the designated areas as indicated by signs at the venue.

Can I BBQ at Starlight Cinema?
No. No open fires are allowed within the venue grounds. You can bring a picnic basket or purchase food from our Food and Beverage Village.

Can I hold my birthday/company/family celebration at Starlight Cinema? Can we get a discount?
Yes, you can. Do let us know of your plans and we will try to accommodate you as best as we can. If your company is planning a gathering and want more information on our corporate and bulk discounts
